Valentines Day in the Winelands with award winning Cape To Grape Wine Tours.
Each year on February 14th, many people exchange cards, candy, gifts or flowers with their special “valentine.”
The day of romance we call Valentine’s Day is named for a Christian martyr and dates back to the 5th century, but has origins in the Roman holiday Lupercalia.
Lupercalia was a very ancient, possibly pre-Roman pastoral annual festival, observed in the city of Rome, each year, on February 15, to avert evil spirits and purify the city, releasing health and fertility. Lupercalia subsumed Februa, an earlier-origin springcleaning ritual held on the same date, which gives the month of February (Februarius) its name.
So spoil your special valentine on the 14th of February on a romantic fully inclusive tour of the beautiful Cape Winelands.
